We have 2 boys that currently help out on the farm, ours and their uncles and grandfathers. We do not give them jobs without proper supervision and training. By letting them work, hopefully they are learning a strong work ethic plus good training on how to do certain jobs. I feel this goes not only for our kids, but also any kids that we may hire to work for us on a temporary basis. By not letting them work for relatives or neighbors, you are denying them the opportunity to learn from others besides their parents and denying them the chance to feel that independence that comes from doing a job.
