Details Information

Abstract: This final rule changes the weighting methodology used to calculate the low-income benchmark premium amount (benchmark) for 2009 and thereafter. Under this final rule, the benchmark weighting methodology is adjusted so that the relative weights of the Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MA–PD) plan premiums and Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) plan premiums in the low-income benchmark premium amount reflect the distribution of enrollment of beneficiaries eligible for the low-income subsidy in each plan.
