Title: California Association of Winegrape Growers (CAWG) Comment on Notice No. 122 (Comment 14)
Abstract: In this comment, the California Association of Winegrape Growers (CAWG), a trade association, objects to TTB's proposal to amend its regulations to allow vintage dating on wines labeled with a country as an appellation of origin. While the comment acknowledges that the European Commission’s petition seeking such vintage dating has merit, the CAWG believes TTB’s proposal to such labeling should not be allowed until TTB establishes stricter standards of origin for wine labeled with the "American" appellation of origin. The comment is signed by John Aguirre, president of the CAWG.
