§ 585.401 When may BOEM issue a cessation order?
(a) BOEM may issue a cessation order during the term of your lease or grant when you fail to comply with an applicable law; regulation; order; or provision of a lease, grant, plan, or other BOEM approval under this part. Except as provided in § 585.400(e), BOEM will allow you a period of time to correct any noncompliance before issuing an order to cease activities.
(b) A cessation order will set forth what measures you are required to take, including reports you are required to prepare and submit to BOEM, to receive approval to resume activities on your lease or grant.
