Early Education Program for Children With Disabilities; Notice
Inviting Applications for New Awards Under the Early Education Program
for Children With Disabilities for Fiscal Year (FY) 1995
Purpose of Program: To support activities that are designed (a) to
address the special needs of children with disabilities, birth through
age eight, and their families; and (b) to assist State and local
entities in expanding and improving programs and services for these
children and their families.
This notice supports the National Education Goals by improving
understanding of how to enable children and youth with disabilities to
reach higher levels of academic achievement.
Eligible Applicants: Public agencies and nonprofit private
organizations.
Applications Available: November 14, 1994.
Deadline for Transmittal of Applications: January 13, 1995.
Deadline for Intergovernmental Review: March 13, 1995.
Available Funds: $750,000.
Estimated Average Size of Awards: $750,000.
Estimated Number of Awards: 1.
Note: The Department is not bound by any estimates in this
notice.
Project Period: up to 60 months.
Applicable Regulations: (a) The Education Department General
Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) in 34 CFR parts 74, 75, 77, 79, 80,
81, 82, 85, and 86; and (b) The regulations for this program in 34 CFR
part 309.
Priority: The priority Early Childhood Research Institute: Follow

competition.
