    In accordance with Section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory 
Committee Act (P.L. 92-483), announcement is made of the following 
Committee Meeting:

    Name of Committee: Army Science Board (ASB).
    Date of Meeting: December 9, 1997.
    Time of Meeting: 0830-1630.
    Place: Boeing Helicopter Factory, Mesa, AZ.

    Agenda: The Army Science Board's (ASB) Issue Group Study on 
``Army Avionics Modernization Methodologies'' will meet for 
discussions on the Boeing avionics modernization methodologies, Army 
avionics science and technology programs, and open systems 
architecture. This meeting will be open to the public. Any 
interested person may attend, appear before, or file statements with 
the committee at the time and in the manner permitted by the
