Notice Pursuant to the National Cooperative Research and 
Production Act of 1993--Petroleum Environmental Research Forum

    Notice is hereby given that, on November 12, 1997, pursuant to 
Section 6(a) of the National Cooperative Research and Production Act of 
1993, 15 U.S.C. Sec. 4301, et seq. (``the Act''), the Petroleum 
Environmental Research Forum (``PERF'') has filed written notifications 
simultaneously with the Attorney General and with the Federal Trade 
Commission disclosing a change in its membership. The notifications 
were filed for the purpose of extending the Act's provisions limiting 
the recovery of antitrust plaintiffs to actual damages under specified 
circumstances. Specifically, the notifications stated that Sun Company, 
Inc., has terminated its membership in PERF.
    No other changes have been made in either the membership or planned 
activities of PERF. Membership in PERF remains open, and PERF intends 
to file additional written notification disclosing all changes in 
membership.
    On February 10, 1986, PERF filed its original notification pursuant 
to Section 6(a) of the Act. The Department of Justice published a 
notice in the Federal Register pursuant to Section 6(b) of the Act on 
March 14, 1986 (51 FR 8903).
    The last notification was filed with the Department on February 15, 
1996. A notice was published in the Federal Register pursuant to 
Section 6(b) of the

Act on March 27, 1996 (61 FR 13517-18).
