    AGENCY:

    Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

    ACTION:

    Notice and request for comment.

    SUMMARY:

    The FDIC, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on the renewal of an existing information collection, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. chapter 35). On March 19, 2013 (78 FR 16853), the FDIC solicited public comment for a 60-day period on renewal without change of its “Interagency Policy Statement on Funding and Liquidity Risk Management” (OMB No. 3064-0139). No comments were received. Therefore, the FDIC hereby gives notice of submission of its request for renewal to OMB for review.

    Comments must be submitted on or before July 5, 2013.

    Form Number: None.

    Affected Public: Insured state nonmember banks.

    Estimated Number of Respondents: Number of respondents: 4,510 total

    (11 large (over $20 billion in assets), 298 mid-size ($1-$20 billion), 4,201 small (less than $1 billion)).

    Frequency of Response: Annual.

    Estimated Annual Burden Hours per Response:

    Burden under Section 14: 720 hours per large respondent, 240 hours per mid-size respondent, and 80 hours per small respondent.

    Burden under Section 20: 4 hours per month.

    Total estimated annual burden: 552,560 hours

    General Description of Collection:

    The policy statement summarizes the principles of sound liquidity risk Start Printed Page 33418management that the agencies have issued in the past and, when appropriate, supplements them with the “Principles for Sound Liquidity Risk Management and Supervision” issued by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision in September 2008.1 This policy statement emphasizes supervisory expectations for all depository institutions including banks, thrifts, and credit unions.

    Request for Comment

    Comments are invited on: (a) Whether the collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the FDIC's functions, including whether the information has practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the estimates of the burden of the information collection, including the validity of the methodology and assumptions used; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and (d) ways to minimize the burden of the information collection on respondents, including through the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology. All comments will become a matter of public record.
