Requirements for Bicycles

Concerning the purposed rule change in 16 CFR Part 1512 part E, regarding the seat heights for bicycles is one that needs to be passed as soon as possible. I have been working with an organization that does normal physical fitness and many of the employees choose to ride bikes for about an hour as part of their routine. One of the common occurrences that have happened over the last year is several accidents concerning this issue. Five people at separate times have ridden the bikes with the seat raised to the improper level. These five people have injured themselves because of this. One person injured himself by hitting a large hole and with the seat raised to the very extreme; the seat fell off the bicycle which made him fall off the bike, with the final outcome the individual receiving numerous stitches due to cuts. I could go on several cases like this but I will keep it to one. I have seen several bicycles with a marking on the seat post like this. But having it federal regulated making it mandatory that all companies are required to mark the seat post in this manner would hopefully cut down on the accidents that occur this way. Thank you.
