PCNB is used at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace to control Pink and Gray Snow
Mold. Financially this product gives us the control we must have without putting an
undue burden on our budget. With alternative products multiple applications are
needed and the product use rates are higher leading to significant increases in
cost to the golf course, the city and ultimately the citizens of Centerville. From a
control stand point, PCNB is the only product that we can confidently apply in late
November and know for sure that we will get control until March. With the
alternative products multiple applications are required and if there is a snow
blanket on the ground this would be impossible. The other factor that enters into
this is if the ground is clear the wind typically blows at speeds high enough during
the winter months that an additional spray is almost impossible.
