I have attached a response from Serco Management Services, Inc. who will be
operating the San Bernardino Tower. The summary of our response is that the
following changes to the proposed San Bernardino Class D Airspace should be
considered:
1. The cutout for the Redlands Airport should be bordered by Abbey Way,
Orange Street and West Colton Avenue to make its borders geographically
discernable and to allow room for a Category A traffic pattern.
2. A shelf in the Class D Airspace should begin at 2400’ MSL over the
cutout for the Redlands Airport.
3. The traffic pattern altitude at Redlands should be lowered to 631’
AGL /2200’ MSL.
4. The high performance traffic pattern altitude for the San Bernardino
International Airport should be set at 1541’ AGL/2700’ MSL.
5. The upper limits of the Class D Airspace should be raised to 3200’
MSL.
