I have flown numerous PA 31 aircraft over last 30 years. With numerous stop gap measures to keep the nose bagage door from opening,None were fool proof and I had numerous nose bagage doors open as well as a number of our other pilots. When I flew the the one after this door lock aparatus was installed,at Iliamna Air I tried numerous times to get the mechanisim to fail. I did not want to have another nose bagage door come open on takeoff or any other realm of flight. Trying it with numerous latches not werking I could not get it to open with enen no latches tightened, just the over center of the device against the door. This is definitely the best mousetrap for the PA31 nose bagage door I have seen or flown. The net is a good idea, BUT the pilot or ramper must insure it is installed and conected properly, and often time I would find it under the contents of the nose locker....
