I worked at Argonne National Lab for 6 years and can tell you they have an entire department that only goes after R&D funds using the name as a justification. When they got the funds they never delivered what was promised and only would do enough to justify extending the program as they would work with the POC to show them where more money was located. A VOSB can’t do that. We are building a name. We can only hire people who are mission oriented and not PhDs looking to find more reasons to get published (the ONLY criteria for a raise!). Thanks for fighting for us. If you want a justification just direct them to the work that Rutan has done in the field of aviation for “x” cost vs. Boeing, GD Etc. have done for “X” time 1,000,000! My company is having to fund itself for R&D of a formula that is non-toxic that will kill MRSA 100% of the time in less than 10 minutes and will last for 24 hours. I have tried DTRA and many other agencies that SHOULD be interested in arresting the spread of MRSA but they always defer to the big labs who only deliver more toxic and less effective formulas that require almost HAZMAT teams to apply.
