Many news and research articles have been decrying escalating trends in overdoses and deaths from opioid analgesics and heroin. Yet, rarely is mention made of the fact that there is an effective and safe antidote for such tragedies — naloxone. Leavitt, MA, PhD, executive director of the Pain Treatment Topics and Opioids911-Safety education projects are in an attached MS Word document.
