This letter is submitted in response to the revised proposed designation of critical
habitat for the Quino checkerspot butterfly (Euphydryas editha quino) (73 Fed.
Reg. 77568 (December 19, 2008), to be codified at 50 C.F.R. pt. 17), that
continues to designate approximately 12,405 acres of Federal land found within
the Western Riverside County Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan. These
comments are submitted in addition to comments previously submitted on
February 18, 2008 by the Western Riverside County Regional Conservation
Authority on the proposed designation of critical habitat for the Quino checkerspot
butterfly published by the Fish and Wildlife Service on January 17, 2008. (73 Fed.
Reg. 3328.)
