I totally support the inclusion of the three cockatoos suggested to be added to the ESA. In addition to data already published by others, we (the Indonesian Parrot Project; www.indonesian-parrot-project.org)have worked with two races of Yellow-crested cockatoos--abbotti and sulphurea. They have, acc. to our data, only 10 and ca. 150 individuals , resp., in the wild and thus are on the verge of extinction. While C. alba is 'only' vulnerable', considerable data from the past 1-2 years indicate that they are heavily traded and that they therefore deserving of further protection. Some of these data are included in our website. In addition,we would be glad to tabulate our data to support these statements--in considerable detail--if this would be helpful.
