It is clear the sei whales face a number of threats, many of them anthropogenic. The limited understanding of distribution and stock structure hampers true understanding of the status and trends in the population. These data gaps require concerted effort to remedy them. The NMFS also needs to better consider impacts from entanglement, shipping and from ongoing international whaling. We look forward to the NMFS concluding this mandated recovery plan in a timely manner. See more extensive attached comments
