I have spoke in several Pubic Comment times during the Gulf Council meetings (I missed this past one).
When opening Gag & Red Grouper season. It only makes common since to have American Red Snapper season open at the same time. When to try to target a Grouper in the Central Gulf of Mexico in 100 to 250 feet of water, you will just kill Red Snapper. The abundance, and agressive nature of Snapper will out eat any Grouper. If the Southern Gulf must have Grouper in the Fall, then the only thing that would make good since is to divid the Gulf.
Sincerely,
Tom Steber
