It is critical that these species be listed under ESA. Protection of river herring and river herring habitats can not be delayed. River herring populations are dangerously close to tipping point from which they will not be able to recover. As offshore fishing practices devastate adult populations and inshore habitat impairments seriously limit spawning potential, river herring are caught in a downward spiral. River herring are a foundation of the US's economy, ecology, and culture. Protect them before it is too late. Thank you.
