My comments are in regard to the petition to stop the ESA protection of Puget Sound orcas. They should remain protected under the ESA because their population has not fully recovered. partly from the pollution of the Puget Sound. They are a distinct population, different from other orcas, as upheld by a federal court decision so therefore to be given special consideration.
Please do not remove their endangered status until a total comprehensive review is conducted with much input of scientific, commercial, & public information.
The orcas are a definite part of the Puget Sound ecosystem & a huge tourist attraction. Do not decide prematurely to delist them.
It would not be wise. W need to preserve them for future generations to enjoy.
Thank you from a Puget Sound resident.
