Gentlemen: The method of fault detection should be improved. It could be accomplished by use of a "smart coating" with embedded conductors. Many times a pipeline failure starts as a coating damage. A damage to coating would be easily detected because it would brak a sensing conductor. The continuity of sensing wires could be easily monitored. In case of pipeline rapture the sensing wires would also be broken and could trigger appropriate response like shutting down valves, notifying operators etc. I could provide some sketches showing this concept if you find it of interest. Regards, Marian Stec
