I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN WHO HAS A RESIDENCE IN THE NORTH BURKE AREA WHICH IS ACCESSIBLE VIA THE JAMIESON LINE BORDER ENTRY.
I HAVE BEEN CROSSING AT THIS POINT SINCE I PURCHASED THE PROPERTY IN 1994 SINCE IT IS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO MY COTTAGE. HOWEVER, IT HAS BEEN RUMORED THAT THIS STATION WILL BE CLOSING PERMANENTLY IN THE COMING MONTHS AND THE ALTERNATE ROUTE FOR ME WOULD BE THE CHATEGUAY BORDER ENTRY.
THIS ROUTE WOULD ADD ANOTHER HOUR ON A RETURN TRIP TO MY TRAVEL TIME NOT TO MENTION THE ADDED EXPENSE IN FUEL INVOLVED WITH THE TRIP.
SINCE I AM ON A VERY LIMITED PENSION, IT WILL HAVE A DEFINITE IMPACT ON MY FINANCIAL RESOURCES WHICH IS OF GREAT CONCERN TO ME.
ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO PREVENT THIS CLOSURE WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED.
I THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY SUPPORT YOU CAN PROVIDE IN REVIEW MY NEEDS IN RETAINING THIS PORT AS AN ONGOING PORT OF ENTRY.
