I disagree with this rule. I don’t believe that veterans should have to pay any co payment for their medications. When men and women signed up for service or were drafted, they were made certain promises of benefits they would receive for their sacrifices. Whether they were injured in peacetime war or after their discharge, should not change their level of care. They were put in a position, whether it was voluntary or involuntary, to put their lives at stake for this country. It is this countries responsibility to repay veterans with the promises that were made when they enlisted. Someone’s medical condition or income level should not dictate the level of care that they receive. I suggest making an amendment that all co pays for medication for veterans be eliminated. Currently 12.1 percent of the population is veterans and only 1 percent enlists to serve their country today. The overall care that the VA will have to provide will drop significantly over the next 50 years. Therefore they shouldn't be categorizing the level of care of veterans but just take care of them as they were promised.
