re federal register of 1/12/06 vol 71 #8 pg 1985 usda aphis extend testing interval
in captive cervids for tuberculosis
the unnatural keeping of cervids in close confinement in captive herds brings on
diseases. these animals are supposed to be able to run free and not live in close
confinement so that profiteers can make money. this greed in doing this to these
animals causes diseases like tuberculosis.
for this reason, this kowtowing to the profiteers to let them let disease run rampant
among their herds, where it can spread to wild populations, is against all health
standards. i certainly do oppose this kowtowing to human profiteers who hold
these animals mainly for letting perverted gun wackos come in to shoot them.
this industry is against common sense and should not be allowed at all. but if it is
going on, higher standards need to be set. i do not care that profiteers have to
spend a few bucks to keep their herds health. i do not care that state agencies
have to do a little work to see that that happens. this standard has been in effect
for many years.
i see absolutely no reason to downgrade health standards so that profiteers can
make more money on these poor animals. this is a sick industry.
