There is no shortage of biofuel in the U S. Estimated creation of biofuels via Municipal Solid Waste is 1 ton per person per year. There is no reason to "grow" biofuel on arable cropland that should be used for growing organic food and animals. The amount of GHG reduction, fossil fuel demand reduction, loss of arable land to land fill use could be greatly improved with only a reasonable amount of funds being made available instead to convert our garbage collection and landfill habits to waste to energy without incineration. We are behind in our efforts to green up only because the government agencies refuse to engage in discussions that will bring about meaningful and effective change - not for the most expensive way possible, but in the best ways already available with available technology, best practices, good logic and wisdom and with minimal investment compared to the boondoggles government keeps coming up with that keeps us in the red instead of actually helping us to greening up! There is no justifiable reason that we are not growing hemp all over this country. Until the government can handle the truth, it can't possibly do anything for the people that is helpful.
