As an amateur woodworker I oppose the idea of adding in such a safety feature. Yes it is a wonderful technology. But if my table saw allows me to reach ever closer with my fingers I am going to employ the same caution to my other tools. Eventually I'll cut my hand or fingers off on a band saw, hand-held saw, or some other tool because of the lack of respect created by the proposed idea. Table saws along with most other tools are dangerous and require respect. Under the same guidelines you could apply this technology to the beaters in a kitchen mixer. Where would it stop? To end don't try and regulate common sense.
