We have an urgent and worsening epidemic of catastrophic consequence. When the house is on fire you don't wait 30 days to put out the fire. DEA has taken six months to review lorcaserin. Meanwhile, many people suffered and died from obesity and its comorbidities. Each and every day obesity and T2DM cost the US healthcare system a billion dollars. DEA, please let patients like my aunt who desperately needs lorcaserin (Belviq) have access to it immediately. Please waive the administrative wait periods and let doctors and patients have access to this safe and effective drug without any further delay. Thank you & God bless.
