The product Resmethrin prvides outstanding performance in mosquito control, particularly those species that have shown resitance to other products. As we understand the only reason that Bayer is voluntarily cancelling the registration is due to the Federal Govermnent increasing the cost of registration. Of what benefit is it to the Federal Govenrment/EPA to try and increasing funding which results in the loss of prodution of a proven product. Not to mention the possiblities of loss of control of mosquito populations. No one wins. There is more than enough govenrmnet restrictions on everything. Resmethrin is a proven highly effective and safe product. There should be no need of more government scrutiny. The EPA should be do all it can to keep this product available and encouraging Bayer to keep it in production. What's next?
