Timberline Tree Farms - Hupp, Jan

I am a wholesale Christmas tree farmer in Oregon since 1973 and I support the Labor Department's proposal to properly classify Christmas tree farming as an agricultural activity under the Fair Labor Standards Act. I follow the same types of practices as other types of crop farmers for instance, land preparation, planting, transportation, pruning, weed control, pest control and harvesting. My farm operates no differently than other crop farms; we are all raising a crop for consumer use. I want to thank the department for it's effort to bring about national clarity and consistency by properly recognizing Christmas tree farming as agriculture. Thank you for your time!
