I purchased a replacement alternate static drain valve from Cessna Aircraft (part number 0511199-20) during July, 2008. This was repackaged by Cessna from their vendor, Curtis Superior Valve Co, Chandler, AZ. The Curtis part number CCA- 7450 is FAA TSO'd (TSO C-76), and this unit had the identification placard affixed (adhesive printed tape) over the open end of the drain valve. I obviously removed this upon installation on the aircraft, as I hope that any responsible party would have done. My comment is that should this directive be expanded to include all CCA-7450 valves, as they are approved for aviation fuel drains under TSO C-76, and other aircraft could be affected?
