All Nippon Airways (ANA) has reviewed NPRM 2008-NM-097-AD and would like to comment on the proposed AD.
Reference:
/A/ The Boeing SB 767-28A0085 Revision 2, dated August 19, 2010
/B/ The Boeing SB 767-28A0034 Original Issue, Revision 1, Revision 2, Revision 3 or later FAA approved revision
The proposed AD will mandate to perform Reference/A/ SB. It was revised and Reference/B/ SB was added to the concurrent requirement list. However Reference /B/ SB requires the dual crossfeed valve installation, which is not directly related with the main tank boost pump ground fault protection and center auxiliary tank override and jettison pump uncommanded-on protection function. The reason why Reference /B/ SB was added is that Reference /A/ SB requires incorporation of wiring changes and the revision of the connector in one of the panel. All procedures described in Reference /B/ SB are not necessary.
Boeing is now in process of revising Reference/A/ SB to change the concurrent requirement and reflect some wiring changes.
In order to avoid unnecessary extra work, ANA would like FAA to consider to postpone issuing the AD until the next revision of Reference /A/ SB will be released.
