As pilots we all want to fly aircraft that are safe. I do have a concern, however, with increased oversite and regulations of the Light Sport Aircraft industry. We need to make certain that the FAA does not become so obsessed with paperwork documentation that we shut down the LSA industry. General Aviation is in dire condition at this time and LSA provides some hope for getting new pilots in the game and retaining current pilots for recreational flying. The one advantage of the LSA concept is to reduce the burden of Government regulations. I would hope that the FAA would work with and help the LSA manufactures rather than bury them in regulations and audits.
