What, pray tell, is the reason for saying hangar owners cannot fuel their own airplanes on their own property. See Page 44516 Column 3.
I know some will give some safety mumbo gumbo as the reason but it obviously is something written in to protect fuel sellers on the airports in question. Greed is what it is.
This is not fair and I doubt it is legal. The hangar owner owns the land, the hangar and the aircraft and you are saying you can prevent them from fueling his own plane?.
Many of us own antique aircraft that don't run very well at all on the heavily leaded 100LL avgas sold on the airports. So, we go out and find automobile gasoline WITHOUT ethanol and use that in our planes. These old engines run much better on such fuel. So, why would you want to force us to use fuel containing highly toxic lead. This gas is called Low Lead, but that is a misnomer since it contains four times as much lead as our old 80 octane fuel which was specified originally for our engines.
So, please reconsider this sentence in the proposed regulation.
Thank you, Paul Merritt
