I would like to suggest that a more concise standard date format be used: YYYYMONDD where July 31, 2012 would be 2012JUL31. Having the year first would enable easier sorting by date. Using alpha characters for the month would prevent mix-ups between the month & day which may occur if numbers are used to designate the month. Thank you.
