When I was a kid in the early 70's in Extreem SW Missouri we used to pick up a burr covered nut from under a tree my dad called a chinquapin. They were a smal tree, as I remember, similar in size to a dogwood. My dad toldme shortly after that in early 80s the these tree had a died. I didn't think they even existed still. So I'm glad to hear they are still around. I hoe these can be saved.
