I know the location near Quitman, Arkansas, of two very old chinquapin trees that my mother used to collect the nuts from about 75 years ago. She shows them to me every time we drive through the area. They are in danger of being destroyed because a natural gas drilling company has excavated the hillside for construction of a facillity and they are on the edge of what is left of the hillside. If this information would be useful to anyone trying to save the trees in Arkansas, please contact me.
