Please consider the following points regarding the proposed SBA Size Standards. The current size standard of 4.5 million for Engineering, Architecture and Surveying does need to be raised. The proposed new limit of 19 million is 4 times the current size. This is much too high. Most small businesses are 50 people and less. By increasing to the proposed limit, small businesses would be eliminated from competing on Federal Projects as they would be up against firms that would be 5 to 10 times their size. For small business the new limit should be somewhere between 7-9 million. This would allow for a doubling of the current standard and yet keep it viable for Small Business.
