Comments on "Appendix A--Deactivation Criteria 1. NOTE suggests the bladders could be removed. The construction of the "box and bladder" requires the boxes be removed to access the bladders. If the bladders were removed several major structural repairs and plumbing modifications would be required. 2. Section (4) AC 25-8 is "Auxiliary Fuel Tank Installations" not "Fuel Tank Flammability Minimization" AC25.981-2 is "Fuel Tank Flammability Minimization" and I see no direct approved methods in Section (4) unless they are in the FAR's (25.981) mentioned in the AC. 3.The "cylindrical tank system" could retain its bleed air system to purge the tanks with bleed air if the vent valve were opened.
