As a concern citizen of Lancaster County of South Carolina, I would like to express my views on the Proposed Modification of the Class B Airspace: Charlotte, NC (Document ID FAA-2010-0049-0003).
I have lived out side of air bases in Guam and Rome NY where the C-4 and B-52 would fly over my home daily. It was a terrible sound and shook the homes each time. We could not change their flight pattern but finally got used to it after a few months.
Today, I know that I am in the holding path to the airport when they come over the Van Wyck SC. There are some days I can feel the planes flying over when the cloud base is forcing them down due to the storms in the area. That is fine and understandable. It does shake the homes and makes a louder sound which can be heard when I am on conference calls with my company. This new proposal for my job would interfere each time I am on a conference or training call if they can hear the engines each time I get on speaker phone. I will not be allow to stop my calls due to the changes.
I feel this will affect not only the environment around us but also the lifestyle of the people and job market to stay in this area. The environment will have more noise and pollution from the fuel burn out from the engines. this over the time will affect the wildlife in our area. For the people living here or wanting to live here They do not want to hear the planes up to midnight landing or be waken up by the red eye flights in the morning. It also will affect the property values with the jets flying lower.
Please keep the fly zone at the higher altitude than what is proposed due to the fact that they will actually be only at flying at 3200 feet above the land which means to some places almost 3000 ft above some of the buildings. Structured damage due to the vibration and noise disturbance is a main concern to the proposal.
Sincerely
Pamela Wiltsie
