RNAV SIDS and STARS are extremely important to the Nex Gen system upgrades of the entire airspace system. However to jeopardize the livelihood and existence of small feeder/reliever General Aviation airports outlying the Charlotte Class B is unacceptable. Many RNAV Departures have turns immediately after take-off to accommodate other airports in the vicinity of main airports.
The Chester, SC airport serves the community with a variety of activities such as gliding and skydiving. It is one of the only airports in the region know for the activities.
Currently it does not lie within the Charlotte Class B. Any new modifications or proposals should continue to keep the airport outside class B.
Draw other departure corridors or arrival paths and keep Chester open for general aviation use.
