I support the proposal to expand the boundaries of the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. I am a Michigan taxpayer and have property in Alpena County. My family and friends (and everyone I talk to) who have visited this sanctuary and the Great Lakes Visitor Center are blown away by how nice and interesting it is. I can only say that this is a treasure for the "Sunrise" side of our state. Not only is this a beautiful area, it's rich in history and offers recreational and educational opportunities for all who venture there. The expansion will increase the protection of this special area of Lake Huron and will increase the opportunity for research, learning, and recreation. It will also be a boon to the local economy, which is sorely in need of all the support it can get. This is the type of initiative that is a win for everyone and I sincerely hope that you pass this rule. Then come on up and visit us there.
