As a Health Information Management professional, I am deeply disturbed by the proposed one year delay in ICD-10-CM/PCS. We have worked hard to prepare not only healthcare but education programs as well. The current system is obsolete and the delay only makes the problems worse that we experience worse. The transition to ICD-10-CM/PCS has been expected for years. I believe that this rewards people for procrastination. I strongly urge that the date remain October 1, 2013.
