Please consider the following two items for the final rule: 1) The realtor fees should be paid during a Government Acquisition. Currently, you have to find a buyer before the Government will acquire the property after 120 days. Once the Government acquires the property, it will sell to your buyers on contract and pay their realtor fees. However, the realtor fees to list and find a buyer is not covered. The realtor fees for the listing and buyer's agents should be covered under the HAP program. 2) The closing costs should be considered for reimbursement. Many military members have paid over $10,000 in closing cost alone which is probably near 20% or more of their yearly income. The closing costs should be covered under the HAP program.
