Abstract: In this final rule, TTB establishes the 162,762-acre "Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley" viticultural area in portions of Douglas, Grant, and Kittitas Counties in central Washington, effective on November 19, 2012. This new viticultural area lies entirely within the existing Columbia Valley viticultural area (27 CFR 9.74). TTB designates viticultural areas to allow vintners to better describe the origin of their wines and to allow consumers to better identify wines they may purchase.
