Notice No. 129: Proposed Establishment of the Indiana Uplands Viticultural Area and Modification of the Ohio River Valley Viticultural Area
In this proposed rule document, TTB proposes to establish the 4,800-square mile “Indiana Uplands” viticultural area in south-central Indiana. This proposal also would remove from the existing "Ohio River Valley" viticultural area the portion of it that would otherwise overlap with the Indiana Uplands AVA, should it be established. TTB is making this proposal in response to a petition from wine industry members located in south-central Indiana. TTB designates viticultural areas to allow vintners to better describe the origin of their wines and to allow consumers to better identify wines they may purchase. Through this document, TTB invites comments on these proposals.
